Ambios Ltd began in 2001 and is a not-for-profit organisation running UK and European training projects what help people achieve their goals for education, environmental conservation and employment.
It has 5 staff, 10 associates and 20+ volunteers and has trained over 200+ beneficiaries. Projects include 4 European Social Fund progammes (larges £2.6million over 4 years), a Heritage Lottery Fund bursary scheme (£700,000 over 4 years) and a European Voluntary Service project. Ambios works with LANTRA Sector Skills Council via the Environmental Conservation Industry Work Group which determines National Occupational Standards. Ambios is experienced in maintaining partnerships which last and work cooperatively toward specific goals in environmental training. The Ambios ‘team’ has a collective knowledge and experience of vocational education qualifications development, training delivery and ICT all in the context of ecology.
Ambios Ltd is a City and Guilds UK Centre which Certificates adult education, information technology and environmental conservation qualifications. We run a rural farm in South Devon that we manage for nature, wildlife and learning. We work alongside Robert Own Communities ROC (for adults with learning difficulties) while also training post-graduates who come to learn the skills and gain the qualifications needed to gain employment in the environmental conservation sector. We have successfully managed European Social Fund, UK National Lottery and European Lifelong Learning projects the focus of which has always been adult education and training. We are known nationally and in the local area, with a good publicity mechanism (including social media such as Twitter) and a substantial network through which to publicize training.
